claude motion

Updated

Claude Motion is a tool launched by Anthropic in October 2026, designed to help users turn their ideas, reports, charts, and product walkthroughs into short, animated explainers.

Key features and details include:

  • How it works: Claude Motion does not use a traditional video generation model to create synthetic footage or people. Instead, it writes code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images. Because it is based on code, users can edit specific details—such as words, numbers, or timing—after the animation is generated.
  • Purpose: It is primarily built for business and professional use, such as creating 30-second explainers for quarterly reports, board deck charts, or customer onboarding walkthroughs.
  • Editing and Export: Once created, animations can be adjusted directly within the Claude editor or through further prompting. Users can download the final result as an MP4 file or export it to third-party tools like Adobe, Canva, Runway, or Luma AI for further refinement.
  • Availability: As of its launch, Claude Motion is available in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. On Enterprise plans, it may need to be enabled by an administrator in the Organization settings under "Artifacts".

Claude Motion was released alongside Claude Dashboards, another tool that connects to data platforms (like Snowflake, Databricks, or Salesforce) to create live, interactive dashboards that update automatically as your data changes.
