Sol-H3

Updated

Sol-H3 is a high-performance inference stack developed by NVIDIA Research and the Efficient AI Team to accelerate the MiniMax-H3 video generation model.

Key Features and Performance

  • Speed Breakthrough: Sol-H3 achieves "faster-than-real-time" video generation. On an 8× NVIDIA B300 Blackwell system, it can generate a 5-second, 1344×768 video in approximately 1.653 seconds—significantly faster than the duration of the clip itself.
  • Inference Optimization: It utilizes a combination of Sol-Engine and Sol-Attn to unify sparse attention, fused kernels, and fast multi-GPU communication. It reduces the computational requirements from 50 scheduler points (in the base H3 model) to just 4 DiT (Diffusion Transformer) forwards.
  • Efficiency: The stack optimizes memory usage, allowing the MiniMax-H3 pipeline to run on constrained hardware, such as a single NVIDIA DGX Spark, by using techniques like VAE-free latent transfer and refiner prompt caching.
  • No Retraining Required: Sol-H3 provides these performance gains without requiring the base model to be retrained. It is compatible with existing MiniMax-H3 few-step LoRAs.
  • Open Source: The code for Sol-H3 is released under an Apache 2.0 permissive license.

Significance

By achieving speeds greater than 1x real-time, Sol-H3 moves AI video generation from a "submit-and-wait" batch process toward the potential for continuous, interactive, and live video generation. This capability is considered a foundational step for interactive world models that need to respond to user inputs in real time without lag.
